The 5th IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention will take place from 19-22 July 2009 in Cape Town, South Africa. Online registration is now open at www.ias2009.org and participants are encouraged to register by 25 February 2009 to avoid a late fee surcharge.


The abstract submissions deadline for IAS 2009 is 25 February 2009. All abstracts must be submitted online through the conference website.


Online abstract mentoring, an opportunity for less experienced abstract submitters to ask questions of more experienced submitters, is available until 11 February. Click here for more information.

MERIT: Comparable Virologic Efficacy With Maraviroc vs Efavirenz in Antiretroviral-Naive Patients After Post Hoc Reanalysis Using Enhanced-Sensitivity Phenotypic Tropism Assay for Screening  

 

Excluding patients determined to have D/M-tropic virus at screening by enhanced phenotypic tropism assay, retrospective analysis revealed comparable virologic efficacy in maraviroc vs efavirenz groups, with fewer adverse event-related discontinuations with maraviroc
